Oliaro, Roller Receive U.S. Under-19 Training Camp Invites

DURHAM – The Duke women’s soccer tandem of Mia Oliaro and Cameron Roller have received the call with the United States Under-19 Women’s Youth National Team for a training camp from April 21-26 in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Head coach Carrie Kveton has selected 24 players for the first training camp of the year.

Oliaro, a product of Chapel Hill, N.C., is no stranger to international competition as she was a member of the 2022 U.S. Soccer U-17 World Cup qualifying and CONCACAF Championship youth national team.  The 5-9 forward also competed with the U-17 National Team as well.  Oliaro transferred to Duke this past fall, after playing her freshman campaign at North Carolina.  She appeared in 20 matches as a rookie, while totaling one goal and one assist.

Coming off an impressive freshman season with the Blue Devils, Roller continues to be a mainstay with the U.S. National Team.  She was a member and captain of the U.S. 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup squad and helped the U.S. U-17 team to its fifth CONCACAF U-17 Women’s Championship in 2022.  As a rookie, Roller started 10 of her 13 matches played in 2023 on defense, including the final eight contests of the year.  She helped lead the Blue Devils to five shutouts on the season.

Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2005, are age-eligible for this U-19 WYNT cycle. For this camp, Kveton selected 11 players born in 2005 and 13 born in 2006. All players in the U-19 WYNT player pool are age-eligible for the upcoming 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, set for September in Colombia.

The roster features 10 college players and 14 youth club players. Twelve players return from the USA’s bronze medal campaign at the 2023 Pan American Games in Chile, where the U-19 WYNT put on a strong showing against senior national teams from around North and South America. Seven players represented the USA at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India.
