Hailey Baumann called up to U19 National Team Camp


MADISON, Wis. – Hailey Baumann has been selected to the 24-player roster set to attend the first U.S. Under-19 Women’s Youth National Team Camp of the year, head coach Carrie Kveton has revealed. The camp is set for April 21-26 in West Palm Beach, Fla. 

Baumann is among the eight defenders who received the call-up to the training camp. Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2005, are age-eligible for this U-19 WYNT cycle. For this camp, Kveton selected 11 players born in 2005 and 13 born in 2006. Of the 24 players, seven different colleges are represented on the roster. All players in the U-19 WYNT player pool are eligible for the upcoming 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, set for September in Colombia. 

The freshman is coming off a fantastic rookie campaign with the Badgers, appearing and starting in 22 games for the team. She was named to the All-Big Ten Third Team and All-Big Ten Freshman Team. She was also ranked No. 21 in the Top Drawer Soccer Postseason Top-100 Freshman list. Baumann played a total of 1,959 minutes, the fourth most on the team. She was a key piece of the UW defense that allowed only 0.65 goals per game.
