LOS ANGELES – Playing in their fourth road match of the 2024 campaign, the LA Galaxy sustained their first loss in league play this season with a 2-1 defeat to LAFC at BMO Stadium on Saturday evening.

LA Galaxy Against LAFC

Saturday’s match between the LA Galaxy and LAFC marked the 22nd edition across all competitions of El Tráfico, with the Galaxy leading the all-time series 9-8-5 (47 GF, 47 GA). Against LAFC, the LA Galaxy hold a 7-6-5 (37 GF, 38 GA) record in league play, a 0-2-0 (5 GF, 8 GA) record in the MLS Cup Playoffs and a 2-0-0 (5 GF, 1 GA) record in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. In 22 all-time meetings across all competitions between the LA Galaxy and LAFC, El Tráfico averages 4.3 goals per match.

Goal-Scoring Plays

LFC – Timothy Tillman (Ilie Sanchez, Mateusz Bogusz), 4th minute: Mateusz Bogusz’s corner kick service was flicked on at the back post to Timothy Tillman, who converted from close range.

LAG – Julián Aude, 29th minute: Dejan Joveljić slipped Julián Aude behind the LAFC defense. Aude’s curling shot was fired off the post and the two ensuing LA Galaxy shots were blocked inside the box. Aude was first to the loose ball and his left-footed shot was curled in at the far post.

LFC – Denis Bouanga (Penalty), 35th minute: Denis Bouanga’s penalty kick was converted into the top left corner of the goal.
