Houston Dash News Release
Houston Dash goalkeeper Jane Campbell will join the United States Women’s National Team for the upcoming 2024 SheBelieves Cup, U.S. Soccer announced earlier today.
Campbell will join the USWNT following Saturday’s match against Bay FC at PayPal Park. Saturday’s match is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. CT and fans can follow the action live on ION. Campbell’s call up comes a few days after she made a career-high 10 saves in the 0-0 draw with Racing Louisville FC last Saturday at Shell Energy Stadium. The match also marked the highest attendance for a home opener in club history with 8,600 fans at Shell Energy Stadium.
Campbell will compete in her third SheBelieves Cup in 2024 after competing in the 2018 and 2021 editions of the tournament. The USWNT won both editions of the tournament and look to win their seventh title.
Due to the change in FIFA competition windows the format of the SheBelieves Cup also changed this year. While there will still be four participants, there will be four matches instead of the usual six and the teams will play semifinals (April 6), a third-place match and the championship (April 9). The format will return to three doubleheaders in 2025.
Campbell and the USWNT will take on Japan in the first of two semifinals under the new format on April 6 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The match will kick off at 11:30 a.m. CT and fans can watch the game on TNT, Universo, Max or Peacock. The second semifinal features Brazil and Canada and that match will begin following the USWNT game on April 9. All four teams enter the tournament ranked in the top 10 in the world and will also compete later this summer at the 2024 Olympics.
The tournament will shift to Columbus, Ohio on April 9 as the semifinal winners play in the championship and the losers play in the third-place match. The USWNT will play in the 6 p.m. CT time slot on April 9 and fans can follow the game on TBS, Universo, Max or Peacock.
Cambell will return to Houston prior to the next home match on April 12 when the Dash celebrate their 10th anniversary. The Dash will face the Washington Spirit at 7 p.m. CT that evening at Shell Energy Stadium and tickets for the game are available on SeatGeek.
