NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville SC’s focus returns to MLS play following Wednesday night’s Concacaf Champions Cup exit and ahead of its Week 4 fixture on Saturday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. CT against Charlotte FC. The season’s first MLS night game at GEODIS Park caps a stretch of eight matches in 24 days for the Boys in Gold. Tickets for Saturday evening’s match are available here.

Here are five things to know for Saturday’s match, airing live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and Nashville SC’s flagship station, 104.5 the Zone.

1. The Boys in Gold exited Concacaf Champions Cup (CCC) competition Wednesday night with a 3-1 loss to Inter Miami CF in South Florida. Nashville SC qualified for their first-ever CCC by reaching last season’s inaugural Leagues Cup Final. Before the team’s Round of 16 defeat (5-3 on aggregate), the club swept its two leg, Round One series against Dominican Side Moca FC 7-0 on aggregate.

2. Nashville SC enters Saturday night unbeaten in MLS (0W-0L-3D) and at home across all competitions (1W-0L-3D) this season. NSC’s next league win will be the 50th MLS victory in club history (currently 46 Regular Season; 3 MLS Cup Playoffs).

3. The Boys in Gold and Charlotte FC have played three times prior, with Nashville SC holding a 1W-1L-1D record against the North Carolina side. The last time the two teams met was Sept. 2, 2023 at GEODIS Park, a 1-1 draw. Nashville SC defeated Charlotte FC last season 2-1 on the road at Bank of America Stadium.

4. Nashville SC’s 2022 MLS MVP and Golden Boot Winner, Hany Mukhtar, has had great success against Charlotte FC. The German midfielder has scored all four of the team’s goals in series history, including a game-winning penalty kick in Nashville’s 2-1-win last season and a game-tying penalty kick when the club’s battled to a draw the last time they met.

5. First-year Nashville SC forward McKinze Gaines, who registered his first assist as a Boy in Gold last Sunday at home against the LA Galaxy, was acquired in the offseason via trade with Charlotte FC. Gaines spent two seasons in the Queen City, appearing in 43 MLS matches with 19 starts. He tallied two goals and five assists for Charlotte in MLS play.
