Camilo Ponce Signs with FC Tulsa for the 2024 USL Championship Season

FC Tulsa to Host Three Development Camps in 2023 for 6-14 Year Olds

TULSA – FC Tulsa has signed Forward Camilo Ponce to the 2024 Roster.

Ponce started at the beginning of preseason as a trialist for FC Tulsa. From there, during training and preseason friendlies, he has continuously proved himself which earned him a spot on the FC Tulsa roster.

“I’m extremely excited to be joining FC Tulsa and very appreciative of the coaching staff for putting their trust in me,” Ponce said. “God has always been at work in my life and has blessed me by giving me the opportunity to help the team have a successful season. My teammates have welcomed me in and I am confident in our ability to pout on a show this season. I wouldn’t be here without my family and I want to represent the neglected and forgotten talented players from my neighborhood and beyond.”

“Camilo is an exciting attacking player,” Head Coach Mario Sanchez said. “Camilo is quick, dynamic, and can create off the dribble. We love his confidence on the ball. We believe Camilo will add another dimension to our attack.”

The forward played at Wake Forest University in 2023 where he appeared in 11 matches recording 189 minutes of action.

Prior to transferring to Wake Forest, Ponce spent a single season at Boston College in 2022. Ponce appeared in 16 matches with 11 starts. Ponce tallied three assists and one goal. His lone goal came in his collegiate debut in a 5-2 victory over Quinnipiac.

The Amityville, New York native was named a United Soccer Coaches High School All-America and led his high school team, Amityville Memorial High School to a Long Island Class A Boys Soccer Championship. Ponce recorded 17 goals and 18 goals as a senior in a single season.
