Louisville City FC’s doubling down on the Davila family.

The club announced Monday it has signed midfielder Evan Davila, the younger brother of another recent addition to the club, Taylor Davila, for the 2024 season.

The former University of California standout Evan earned his first professional contract out of a preseason trial. His deal is pending league and federation approval.

“I have spoken the entire offseason about the importance of bringing in players that are hungry with ambition to want to improve every single day. Evan is a player that we brought in on trial and fit in from the start,” said coach Danny Cruz. “He is versatile player that’s constantly looking to play forward and brings quality in the final third.

“We are excited that he chose to come to Louisville City, and we are looking forward to playing a role in his development as he takes the next step in his career playing in the USL Championship.”

Evan Davila enters the pro ranks off his best collegiate season. He was named All-Region and earned a spot on the All-Pac-12 First Team last fall having posted career highs in goals (five) and assists (five). Three of his goals were game-winners.

Davila, a 22-year-old from Sherman Oaks, California, played four seasons at Cal, where his brother also attended. Taylor Davila moved to LouCity this offseason after a USL Championship All-League First Team campaign at Rio Grande Valley FC.

“To graduate college and then sign for a great organization like LouCity is a dream come true,” said Evan Davila, who featured as a substitute last weekend in LouCity’s preseason victory over One Knoxville SC. “I’m grateful to be able to represent this city with its amazing fans. I’m also super excited to play and compete with my brother, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

Evan Davila will be available for selection Saturday when LouCity starts its 10th anniversary season. The boys in purple kick off at 3 p.m. ET at El Paso Locomotive FC with coverage to air on WBKI/The CW, ESPN Louisville’s AM 680/FM 105.7 and ESPN+.

City returns home Saturday, March 23, to host Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC in its home opener at Lynn Family Stadium. Tickets are on sale now at LouCity.com or by calling (502) LOU-CITY.
