Championship clubs are lining up for Liverpool’s fringe stars this month, after Reds assistant boss Pep Lijnders said defenders Nat Phillips and Calvin Ramsay are likely to go out on loan in the last week of the transfer window.

Mail Sport understands Cardiff and Blackburn are keen on centre back Phillips, who spent the first half of this season on loan at Celtic but barely featured for the Scottish champions once they had a fully-fit compliment of defenders.

Leeds are also keeping an eye on Phillips, who played a pivotal role for Liverpool in their quest for Champions League qualification during an injury-hit season a few campaigns ago.

Daniel Farke’s men are also leading the way for full back Calvin Ramsay after he returned from a spell at Preston.

That stint was hampered by injury but he is fit again now and Southampton have also kept an eye on him.

Cardiff, Blackburn and Leeds meanwhile are interested in Phillips

Saints, who are chasing automatic promotion, were one of the clubs who tried to sign Ramsay on a permanent deal when he moved from Aberdeen to Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Liverpool youngster James Balagizi has moved on a temporary deal to Scottish club Kilmarnock, who have good relations with the Anfield club following a successful loan stint for full back Luke Chambers, now at Wigan, last season.
