First Team All-Patriot League Defender Tracey Signs with Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, MD — Maryland women’s soccer head coach Meghan Ryan Nemzer announced the signing of Brooke Tracey with the program. Tracey joins the Terps as a graduate transfer for the 2024 season.

“We are excited about the addition of Broke Tracey”, said Nemzer. “She is a proven champion that will add experience to our backline. Her athleticism, 1v1 defending, and leadership allows her to compete in the Big Ten right away and we can’t wait to see her playing at Ludwig this fall”.

Tracey spent four years as a defender with Bucknell, and earned two All-Patriot League selections during her time with the Bison. Tracey played in 59 matches during her time with Bucknell, and played over 5,100 minutes. During the 2023 season, Tracey played in all 21 games for the Bison, and played in all but 16 minutes at center back. Tracey co-captained the Bison to their third straight Patriot League crown and their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. For her efforts, Tracey earned First Team All-Patriot League honors and was named Patriot League Scholar Athlete of the Year. Tracey was a key member of the team’s defense, helping lead the squad to nine shutouts during the 2023 season.

During the 2022 season, Tracey earned Third Team All-Patriot League honors and was one of only two players on the Bucknell roster to play in every minute of the season. During the 2022 season, Tracey anchored a backline that allowed only 0.75 goals against average. Tracey also earned a selection to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

“I could not be more excited to join Maryland women’s soccer in the fall”, said Tracey. “From the coaches and players, to the facilities, and high caliber of academics, I could not imagine a more ideal place for my final year. I look forward to competing at the next level and can’t wait to get to work”.
