Schupansky, West Earn United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America Honors

PITTSBURGH – Pitt women’s soccer forwards Sarah Schupansky and Amanda West have been named to the 2023 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American Second Team.

Schupansky who is pursuing a double major in Psychology and Law, Criminal Justice and Society and West pursing a master’s in management with a Biological Sciences undergrad become the first Panthers to garner Scholar All-America honors from the United Soccer Coaches.

A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Schupansky played in all 24 games this season – making a start in 22 with her 1633 total minutes played. The Junior tacks this honor on her career resume next to the season program record for points with her 11 goals and 14 assists. She secured 65 shots with 31 on target this season and posted three game winning goals. Schupanksy also became the first Panther in program history to receive All-ACC First Team honors this season. Her accolades don’t stop there, as she landed a spot on both the TopDrawerSoccer Best Second Team and United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Second Team.

West Scholar All-American

West made a start in 21 games out of a record 24 played this season with her 1718 total minutes. The fifth year posted 11 goals this season – reaching 50 career goals to keep her name on the all-time scoring record.She posted 89 shots with 47 on target and posted two game winning goals for the Panthers this season. West’s efforts in the historic game against North Carolina secured the spot in the semifinals in the ACC Championships for the Panthers. This honor gets added to her list of accolades next to United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Second Team and All-ACC second team earned this season.

These two Panthers helped Pitt post their most successful season in program history. Pitt set program records for most wins overall (17), ACC wins (6), home wins (9), points (194), goals (64) and assists (66). The Panthers posted fived top 25 wins including defeating three teams in the top ten. Pitt also advanced to the ACC Championship Semifinal and NCAA Elite Eight fields for the first time in program history.
