December 17, 2023 – National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) – San Diego Wave FC News Release
SAN DIEGO – San Diego Wave FC announced today that the club has reacquired defender/midfielder Sierra Enge from the Houston Dash. Enge was selected by Bay FC in Friday’s NWSL Expansion Draft before being traded to the Houston Dash.
In exchange, Houston has received midfielder Belle Briede, the Wave’s 2024 natural third-round NWSL Draft pick, and $60,000 in allocation money.
Enge, 23, was drafted by the Wave in the 2023 NWSL Draft with the 13th overall pick. The Cardiff-native made 10 appearances (7 starts) in her rookie campaign, while scoring two goals.
Briede was drafted by the Wave in the 2022 NWSL Draft with the 27th overall draft pick out of Stanford University. The 25-year-old midfielder appeared in 28 matches (17starts) across two seasons for the club.
