Seven Named to TopDrawerSoccer Best XI Teams


STANFORD, Calif.Jasmine Aikey and Kennedy Wesley each earned a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer Best XI first team, headlining seven Cardinal selections across the end of year squads.
 
Aikey, a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy and a United Soccer Coaches All-America first team pick, was named Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year and earned All-Pac-12 first team honors this season. The Honda Award for Soccer finalist scored in nine of 25 matches this year while contributing a point in 18 of the 25, helping lead the Cardinal to the 2023 National Championship match and a runner-up finish. The two-time United Soccer Coaches All-Region first team selection finished the season ranked first in the Pac-12 in assists (12) and points (34), second in game-winning goals (4), and third in total goals (11).
 
Wesley was a United Soccer Coaches All-Region third team pick and landed on the All-Pac-12 first team. A two-time Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, Wesley started all 25 matches at center defender, logging 2182:30 minutes and helping guide Stanford to 14 shutouts while limiting opponents to just .60 goals per game on 9.60 shots per game. Turning in an all-around season, she scored four goals and added six assists to finish with 14 points. A staple of the back line, Wesley played 70-plus minutes in 23 of the 25 matches played, including full time in 19 of the 25.
 
Both Aikey (2022) and Wesley (2019) had previously been named to TopDrawerSoccer’s Freshman Best XI in their respective first seasons.
 
Maya Doms placed on the second team for the second time in her career (2022) after previously being named to the Freshman Best XI in 2019.
 
Doms was a United Soccer Coaches All-Region first team selection while also landing on the All-Pac-12 first team. The native of Davis, Calif. started all 25 matches for the Cardinal and scored a team-best 12 goals and assisted on six more to total 30 points. Doms scored in 12 of the 25 matches, including each of the final three, six of the last eight, and nine of the final 15. Her 12 goals ranked second in the Pac-12 and 24th nationally, while the 30 points were third in the conference and 24th in the nation.
 
Elise Evans, a Freshman Best XI pick in 2022 alongside Aikey, landed on the Best XI third team this season.
 
Evans started all 25 matches alongside Wesley on the Stanford defensive line, helping Stanford secure its 14 shutouts. On the attack, Evans contributed two goals – including the game-winner in a 1-0…
