D.C. United Hire Caleb Shreve as Assistant General Manager

D.C. United Appoint Luke Jenkinson as First Team Performance Director

WASHINGTON, D.C. – D.C. Unitedhave announced the hiring of Caleb Shreve as the club’s new Assistant General Manager. Shreve joins the Black-and-Red after spending the previous two seasons as Orlando City SC’s Head of Analytics. Prior to this, Shreve spent two years as a Data Analyst for Nashville SC in 2019 where he worked closely with current D.C. United General Manager and Chief Soccer Officer, Ally Mackay. The Black-and-Red have also hired Clarens Cheridieu, former Loudoun United FC Assistant General Manager, as the club’s Director of Player Personnel.


“I’ve had a close working relationship with Caleb from our time together at Nashville SC,” Ally Mackay, D.C. United General Manager and Chief Soccer Officer, said. “Caleb is meticulous in his research and his work in data analytics for Nashville and Orlando has elevated both of those clubs. As we enter a new era at D.C. United, data and analytics will drive our player recruitment and Caleb’s thorough understanding of the league and scouting networks will enable us to identify the best talent to sign to make an impact on the field. We are thrilled to hire Caleb as we continue to bolster our technical staff ahead of the 2024 MLS season.”

In his role, Shreve will work directly on player recruitment and analysis. Shreve and Cheridieu will report directly to D.C. United General Manager and Chief Soccer Officer, Ally Mackay.

Shreve joined Orlando City SC in 2022 as their Head of Analytics where he handled player recruitment and tactical analysis by using numbers and mathematical models to help evaluate transfer targets as well as team and player performance. During his time in Orlando, he was vital in the organization’s recruitment process and was part of the staff that helped Orlando City SC recruit players such as Uruguayans Facundo Torres and César Araújo. That season, Orlando City SC won the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup defeating Sacramento Republic 3-0 in the final and reached the first round of the MLS Cup Playoffs.
