December 1, 2023 – Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) – Tacoma Stars News Release
The Tacoma Stars are proud to welcome Marcus Trufant as an official Brand Ambassador for the Stars organization. As a Tacoma native, Marcus Trufant and the Trufant Family Foundation are actively engaged in supporting and uplifting the Tacoma community and all its members.
Known for his incredible athletic career, from Wilson High School to being inducted into the Hall of Fame at Washington State University and achieving All-Pro as a 10-year Cornerback on the Seattle Seahawks, Marcus Trufant continues to excel off the field. The Trufant Family Foundation provides support and guidance, along with college scholarships, to under-represented students in Tacoma, Seattle and partnering communities.
“Even though I played for the Seattle Seahawks and have lived outside of Tacoma for a long time, Tacoma has always been, and still remains my home. Having the opportunity to be part of the Tacoma Stars family is huge to me. I am grateful and thankful for the opportunity.” Says Marcus Trufant, when discussing his hometown roots and his passion for the growth of the Tacoma Stars.
“Marcus is one the most successful professional athletes to ever represent Tacoma and we both have common community interests in growing Tacoma area sports and expanding opportunities for youth; especially the under-served” says Tacoma Stars owner, Lane Smith.” I have known the Trufant family and their contributions to the communities for years and am very proud and excited to work with Marcus in his role as an ambassador with the Tacoma Stars.”
Trufant will be on hand to discuss his new role during the Stars Media Day at the accesso ShoWare Center on December 6 at 2 pm. Fans will get to see him in person on December 9 when the Stars welcome the San Diego Sockers on Opening Night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm and tickets are available at www.tacomastars.showare.com.
