Six Blue Devils Earn CSC Academic All-District Accolades


DURHAM – The College Sports Communicators released the 2023 Academic All-District Women’s Soccer Team recently with six members of the Duke squad earning honors – Nicky Chico, Leah Freeman, Maggie Graham, Katie Groff, Carina Lageyre and Kat Rader.  

The 2023 Academic All-District Women’s Soccer nominees were submitted by College Sports Communicators and recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

It marked the second straight year Freeman, Graham and Groff earned the honor, while it was the first time in their respective careers for Chico, Lageyre and Rader.  

Over the history of the Duke women’s soccer program, eight different Blue Devils have been selected CSC (formerly known as CoSIDA) Academic All-America a total of 12 times – Rachel-Rose Cohen (2005, 2006), Maddy Haller (2006), Mollie Pathman (2012), Laura Weinberg (2012), Christina Gibbons (2016), Imani Dorsey (2016, 2017), Kayla McCoy (2018) and Delaney Graham (2020-21, 2021, 2022).  

Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot and will be announced in early December.
