National-Best Five All-Region Selections – Stanford University Athletics

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford matched a national-high with four players on the 2023 United Soccer Coaches All-Pacific Region first team, and added one more on the third team, it was announced on Tuesday.

In addition to being a national leader with four first-team selections, Stanford’s five total honorees are also tied for the most nationally.

Senior Ryan Campbell was joined by fifth-year player Maya Doms, and sophomores Jasmine Aikey and Elise Evans, on the first team, while graduate student Kennedy Wesley landed on the third team.

All five players had previously been named All-Region a season ago, with Doms, Wesley, Evans and Aikey landing on the first team, and Campbell selected for the third team.

For Doms, the selection is her third in as many years after landing on the first team in each of the last three campaigns. The native of Davis, Calif. has scored in 10 of 23 matches this year and is averaging 4.00 shots per game to rank third in the Pac-12 and 14th nationally. Doms’ 1.74 shots on goal per game are third in the Pac-12 and 35th nationally, while her 10 goals and 26 points each rank third in the Pac-12. Doms, who has contributed six assists to total 26 points, scored the game-winner in overtime against No. 15 Nebraska to punch Stanford’s ticket to the College Cup.

Campbell was named Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year and earned a spot on the All-Pac-12 first team this season. The native of Laguna Beach, Calif. leads the nation in goals against average (.408), is first in the Pac-12 and 10th nationally in save percentage (.871), and leads the Pac-12 in shutouts (10). She enters the College Cup ranked 10th in Stanford history for career shutouts (18). Campbell is the only Pac-12 goalkeeper to earn at least three Pac-12 weekly honors (4) this year, and garnered the award in three consecutive weeks (September 18, September 25, October 2) to become only the second goalkeeper in Pac-12 history to win three straight – joining Colorado’s Jalen Tompkins from 2016.

Aikey was named Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year and earned a spot on the All-Pac-12 first team this season. The native of Palo Alto, Calif. has scored in nine of 23 matches this year, and after scoring in the final two last year, has scored in 11 of her last 25. Aikey has contributed a point in 16 of the 23 matches this season, and has scored in five of the last 14 entering the College Cup.
