Inter Miami CF in Action During November International Window

The November FIFA international window saw several Inter Miami CF players in action around the globe with their countries in 2026 World Cup qualifiers, 2024 UEFA Euro qualifiers, Concacaf Nations League, and international friendlies. Additionally, midfielder Santiago Morales, Inter Miami CF II defender Tyler Hall, and Inter Miami CF Academy defender Victor Fung were called up to compete in the 2023 U-17 FIFA World Cup this month.


With the last FIFA international window of the year in the books, let’s do a roundup of how Inter Miami players fared around the world representing their national teams.

Lionel Messi – Argentina

Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi and Argentina fell 0-2 at home against Uruguay on Nov. 16 before registering a historic 0-1 win on the road over Brazil on Nov. 21, handing Brazil their first home loss in World Cup qualifiers in the country’s history. Messi started both matches, playing the full 90 minutes against Uruguay and 78 against Brazil, to help La Albiceleste remain in the top spot in the Conmebol 2026 World Cup qualifiers standings.

Leonardo Campana – Ecuador

Leonardo Campana was also in action in South America for 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The towering striker and La Tri enjoyed a successful international window, earning an important point in a goalless draw on the road against Venezuela on Nov. 16, and topping Chile 1-0 at home on Nov. 21, with Campana entering both matchups as a second-half substitute. Ecuador climbed up the table and now sit fifth in the standings after the team’s positive results this window.

Diego Gómez – Paraguay

Midfielder Diego Gómez and Paraguay also played two Conmebol 2026 World Cup qualifying fixtures. Gómez first featured in the team’s starting XI on Nov. 16 as La Albirroja visited Chile for a scoreless draw, and then came on in the second half in a 0-1 loss at home against Colombia on Nov. 21. Paraguay currently occupy the seventh spot in Conmebol 2026 World Cup qualifiers standings ahead of the next round of qualifiers in September 2024.

David Ruiz – Honduras

Homegrown midfielder David Ruiz and Honduras played out a pair of thrilling matchups against Mexico in the quarterfinals of the Concacaf Nations League. Ruiz entered the game as a second-half substitute in the first leg as Honduras claimed a 2-0 win at home on Nov. 17, but did not feature in the second leg on Nov. 21 as Mexico earned a 2-0 win to tie the…
