Six from Arizona Soccer Named CSC Academic All-District Honorees


TUCSON – Six members of the Arizona soccer team have been named Collegiate Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Sami Baytosh, Nicole Dallin, Ella Hatteberg, Hope Hisey, Sarah Rice and Cameron Valladares each garnered the honor. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced Dec. 20. 

Baytosh holds a 4.0 GPA in Nutritional Sciences as a sophomore. She made appearances in all 19 of Arizona’s matches in 2023 and started 16 of them. She scored three goals throughout the year that included a brace against Oregon, the first of her career. 

Dallin has a 3.61 GPA in Political Science and led Arizona in goals scored this season with nine, tying for the eighth-most in a single season in program history. She was the squad’s leader in points as well, tallying 20 points to also tie for eighth in program history. She was also named to the CSC Academic All-District Team in 2022.

Hatteberg is majoring in Public Health and has a 4.0 GPA. She scored her first career goal against USC to help the Wildcats draw with the then-No. 11 Trojans. Hatteberg additionally had two assists on the year, one against Kent State and one against Oregon.

Hisey completed her undergraduate degree in Political Science with a 4.0 GPA and is pursuing a graduate degree in Legal Studies, also with a 4.0 GPA. She holds the program record for career saves with 366 and is second in Wildcat soccer history in career shutouts with 24. Hisey was named the 2023 Pac-12 Women’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year and garnered CSC Academic All-District honors in 2022 as well.

Rice maintains a 3.683 GPA and is pursuing a degree in Psychology. Rice was a leader on the defensive end of the field in the 2023 season, playing in 18 of Arizona’s 19 matches and starting in 17. She had one shot against Stanford. 

Valladares holds a 4.0 GPA in Psychology and was the second-leading scorer for the Wildcats in their 2023 campaign. She scored four goals and had one assist on the year to total nine points. She started in seven matches and scored the game-winning goal against Northern Arizona.
