Trio of Blue Devils Earn All-ACC Recognition

DURHAM – Following a vote of the league’s head coaches a trio of Blue Devils – Kat Rader, Leah Freeman and Cameron Roller – were tabbed to the All-ACC Women’s Soccer Team on Wednesday, as announced by the ACC office.

Rader earned second team accolades, while Freeman was voted to the third team and Roller received All-ACC Freshman Team honors.

A native of Stuart, Fla., Rader earned All-ACC Second Team recognition for the second straight season.  The forward led Duke with seven goals on the year, while notching two assists and a team-high 16 points.  Rader collected three game-winning goals and started all 16 matches for the Blue Devils.  Over her first two seasons at Duke, Rader has tallied 19 goals and 45 points.  Her 19 goals ranked tied for third-most in Blue Devil history through a freshman and sophomore campaign, while her 45 points ranks fourth.

Freeman recently completed her first season with the Blue Devils, after an impressive three-year stint at Oregon.  Her All-ACC Third Team honors marked the fourth straight year Freeman has received conference recognition as she was a two-time Pac-12 First Team honoree and earned Pac-12 Third Team honors as well.  In the 2023 campaign, Freeman started 15 matches in goal, totaled five shutouts and 47 saves.   Freeman, a native of Berkeley, Calif., registered 26 saves over her final six matches to conclude the regular season.

The Blue Devils now own 110 all-time All-ACC selections and have boasted multiple all-conference picks each year since 1992.

One of the top freshmen in the nation, Roller started the final eight matches of the 2023 campaign, including playing the full 90 minutes in seven of those.  Roller missed most of the preseason due to recovering from an injury and was impressive from the start when stepping on the field.  A product of Sherman, Texas, Roller led all Blue Devil rookies with 956 minutes played.  She registered a key assist against top-ranked North Carolina that led to Rader tying the match with a minute remaining.

The Blue Devils have featured at least one player on the All-ACC Freshman Team every year except one, since the ACC began recognizing freshmen in 2000.
