CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Louisville senior forward Emma Hiscock was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Florida State senior defender Lauren Flynn was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Week for matches played during the final week of the regular season.
Hiscock scored the only goal in Louisville’s 1-0 win over No. 25 Duke on Thursday. The Fenton, Michigan, native found the back of the net in the 36th minute and eventually gave the Cardinals their first victory over the Blue Devils in program history.
Flynn came up from the backline and scored three goals from set pieces, as she led Florida State to a 5-0 home victory over NC State on Thursday. In addition to her offensive performance, the Arlington, Virginia, native played all 90 minutes on defense and helped hold the Wolfpack to just five shots with one going on frame. She became the second ACC player this season to record a hat trick and the only in a conference regular-season match.
The 2023 Ally ACC Women’s Soccer Championship continues Thursday with semifinal action when No. 2 Notre Dame takes on No. 3 Clemson at 5:30 p.m. and No. 1 Florida State squares off with No. 5 Pitt at 8 p.m. ACC Network will broadcast both matchups from WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina.
