Hisey Sets Program Saves Record at Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. – The Arizona soccer team fell to Colorado, 2-0, on Thursday night in Boulder. Arizona moved 4-8-5 and 1-6-2 in conference play while Colorado improved to 11-4-3 and 3-3-3 in the Pac-12.

 

In her 85th career game played, Hope Hisey has become Arizona’s all-time leader in career saves made with 346. She finished the night with seven saves that put the new school record at 352. 

 

Colorado took the lead in the 20th minute with a goal from the Pac-12’s leading goal scorer, Shyra James, off a deflection from a corner kick. 

 

The Buffs added to their lead in the 47th minute with a goal by Faith Leyba. 

 

Arizona finished the match with a total of 10 shots, five of which were on target. Cameron Valladares came the closest to a goal in the 48th minute, finishing with two shots that were both on goal. 

Arizona returns to action on Sunday, October 29th, at 11:00 am to take on Utah in Salt Lake City.
