Hisey Ties Program Saves Record in Draw with No. 11 USC

TUCSON – The Arizona soccer team drew, 1-1, with No. 11 USC on Sunday, moving to 4-7-5 (1-5-2 Pac-12) on the season while the Trojans’ record changed to 9-3-2 (5-1-2 Pac-12).

Hope Hisey made history in the match, tying the program record for career saves at 345. The keeper saved six shots during the game to hit the milestone. 

In the 32nd minute, Nicole Dallin got out ahead of the USC defense. The senior took a shot that Trojans goalkeeper Hannah Dickinson got a hand on, sending the ball into the right post. Ella Hatteberg was waiting just outside the area to arch the ball over Dickinson’s head into the net.

Cameron Valladares got a good look in the 39th minute when Jordan Hall placed a pass in the center of the field. Valladares got past a pair of USC defenders, but the shot went wide left.

USC got on the board in the 58th minute when Zoe Burns intercepted an Aranda Hurge pass. Burns took it up the field before moving it ahead to Maribel Flores, who sent it over Hisey’s outstretched arm to score the…
