Senior Day Set For Sunday
BERKELEY- The California women’s soccer team closes out its regular season home schedule this week with a pair of matches at Edwards Stadium. The Golden Bears (5-3-6, 2-0-4 Pac-12) host Oregon (0-12-2, 0-6-0) on Thursday at 2 p.m. before facing Oregon State (3-6-5, 0-4-2) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Sunday’s match also marks Senior Day as the Bears will celebrate their 12 graduating seniors with a pregame ceremony.

Scouting the Competition
The Ducks come into Thursday’s contest without a win this season, losing all but two of their 14 contests. Oregon is currently riding a six-match skid and over its last three matches has been outscored 9-0. Sitting just one spot above the Ducks in the Pac-12 standings are the 11th-place Beavers who have yet to secure a conference win and have just three total victories on the year. Oregon State is coming off a scoreless tie with Arizona last week but prior to that match was shutout 6-0 by No. 2 UCLA and 4-0 by No. 11 USC.
Pac-12 Breakdown
The Bears currently sit in fifth place in the Pac-12 standings with 10 points and are one of just four teams without a conference loss. No. 2 UCLA leads the way with 18 points, followed by No. 5 Stanford and No. 11 USC which are tied for second with 16 points, and Arizona State sits in fourth with 13. Cal ranks 49th on the NCAA’s RPI list, keeping the team in contention for a postseason appearance should it put together a solid run to close the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Teagan Wy has played just about every available minute between the posts for the Bears this season and her stats show why. Wy ranks fifth in the Pac-12 with 57 saves, 4.08 saves per game average, and a .803 save percentage. Over the last three matches, she has allowed just two goals, with one coming on a penalty kick, and allowed just three in all of September. As a team the Bears rank sixth in the conference with a 1.00 goal against average and five shutouts.
