Premier League top scorers: 2023/24 Golden Boot contenders

2022/23 was all about Erling Haaland, who scored goals at a rate previously unheard of in the Premier League.

A relatively slow conclusion to the season came after the Nordic machine had smashed the single-season scoring record, with his brilliance overshadowing Harry Kane’s stellar individual campaign while carrying a distinctly mediocre Tottenham team.

Haaland no longer has Kane to worry about as he goes in search of his second consecutive Golden Boot this season, but he is currently looking over his shoulder at some surprise candidates in the race to be crowned the Premier League’s top scorer.

After losing his best mate to Bayern, Son Heung-min, who endured a pretty miserable 2022/23, once again looked off the pace before Tottenham rocked up at Burnley in gameweek four.

The new Spurs skipper was at his utterly ruthless best as he bagged a superbly-taken hat-trick to ignite his campaign.

The South Korean missed part of the season due to the Asian Cup, but has still been relentless in the opposition box.
