Mathurin started in all 34 games she played during her two years at Louisiana. Throughout her tenure for the Ragin’ Cajuns, Mathurin scored seven career goals with seven assists for 21 career points. She was a two-time All-Sun Belt selection and was named the conference’s defensive player of the week in October 2021.

During her most recent campaign, the sophomore from Haiti scored a career-high five goals and added three assists. Her five goals scored, and her 13 points led Louisiana 2022. Four of her five goals and 10 of 13 points came in SBC play, with 18 of her 30 shots during the season on goal. She recorded her first multi-goal game in a 3-1 victory over Troy in UL’s home finale on Oct. 20. Her first goal came on opening day against Florida International, where she played a career-high 90 minutes. With Mathurin anchoring the back line, Louisiana earned two shutouts and allowed just one goal in six matches.

During her freshman season in 2021, Mathurin finished third on the team in both goals scored (2) and assists (4). She helped the Regin’ Cajuns to four shutout wins while allowing just one goal in six other matches.

When Mathurin isn’t on a college campus, she plays for the Haitian Women’s National Team, competing in the 2023 Women’s World Cup in July. Back in February, Mathurin helped the Haitian National Team to a pair of wins to qualify for the World Cup.

Mathurin is helping her home country make history, as this will be Haiti’s first-ever appearance in the 32-team event. This is the second time a Caribbean nation will be included in the World Cup field.

Haiti, who is in Group D with England, Denmark, and China, will play its first World Cup match on July 22 when Haiti takes on England. Fans interested in watching…
