Who is the most valuable football player at your Premier League club?

The Premier League's most valuable players, per club, have been calculated in a CIES study

As the 2022-23 Premier League season draws towards its conclusion, fans are beginning to turn their attention towards the upcoming summer transfer window.

It’s a time where transfer rumours are rife and no one can feel safe that their club’s most prized assets won’t get plucked away by mega-rich suitors.

Ahead of the chaos, the data boffins at the CIES Sports Observatory have conducted a study to find out which player is the most valuable at each Premier League club.

Taking into account a number of factors, such as a player’s ability, age and contract length, they’ve calculated the values and shared them for fans to debate.

And so, here, Mail Sport presents the most valuable player at each Premier League club right now.

The Premier League’s most valuable players, per club, have been calculated in a CIES study

ARSENAL

Gabriel Martinelli (£87million)

The Gunners have been flying high in the Premier League this year and a lot of the credit will be given to their free-flowing attack.

In particular, Brazilian forward Martinelli has been in sensational form for Mikel Arteta’s side and has notched 15 goals in the league, making him their top scorer alongside Martin Odegaard.

Some may wonder how the Norwegian, or perhaps winger Bukayo Saka, aren’t valued as Arsenal’s most expensive player however Martinelli’s recent contract extension, which runs until 2027, adds a lot of worth to his value.

With all that considered, the CIES Sports Observatory estimate that the Brazilian is worth £87m (€100m).

ASTON VILLA

Jacob Ramsey (£35million)

Villa’s campaign started in nightmare fashion under Steven Gerrard but, since the arrival of Unai Emery, the Midlands side have have soared up the table.

English youngster Jacob Ramsey has been a major part of that resurgence, having contributed four goals and five assists in their Premier League campaign.

The 21-year-old has been a prominent feature under both managers, making 32 appearances in the top-flight this season.

His contract runs until the summer of 2027, unlike the likes of Ollie Watkins who will see his current deal expire in 2025, which will also add value.

The study suggest he’s worth £35m (€40m).
