GK: Sam Johnstone – 5.62
The Palace keeper has waited a long time for his opportunity but he faces a nervous wait to see if he’ll keep his place on Saturday after a bad error that gave Wolves a late penalty. He ought to be suspended with a red card on his record after a lunge following a poor first touch but Robert Jones seemed to take pity on the former England stopper.
RB: Cesar Azpilicueta – 5.58
In his first Premier League appearance in over two months, the Chelsea captain scored an own-goal against Brentford before being hooked at half-time. In 45 minutes, he achieved only one more accurate pass than the 10 times he gave away possession.
CB: Gabriel Magalhaes – 5.45
Lost four of his six duels as Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland had their wicked way with the Arsenal back four. Didn’t manage a tackle all evening despite City’s domination.
CB: Joachim Andersen – 5.44
The Palace centre-half made sure his own-goal counted after three minutes by putting it over the line for a second time when the ball bounced back out after hitting the upright. Andersen was subbed at half-time, not because he was a liability, but due to injury, which Roy Hodgson hopes to have eased before the weekend clash with West Ham.
LB: Pervis Estupinan – 5.36
The Ecuadorian endured one of his shakier performances, needlessly giving a penalty away when he dallied in his own box, even if Jason Steele bailed him out by saving Brennan Johnson’s effort. Subbed midway through the second half looking knackered after 120 minutes at Wembley on Sunday.
CM: Albert Sambi Lokonga – 5.94
The Palace midfielder had very little impact in the defeat at Wolves, though he was denied by a brilliant Jose Sa save in the first half. That aside, not a tackle or a duel won and no key passes or long passes completed.
CM: Moises Caicedo – 5.66
Another Seagull some way below his best, perhaps as a consequence of their FA semi-final disappointment. Caicedo was involved, with 111 touches, 82 passes and four shots, but one of 11 turnovers gave Forest the ball to score their second goal.
CAM: Martin Odegaard – 5.94
