Brighton predicted lineup vs Manchester United

Danny Welbeck

Brighton will look to reach a first FA Cup final since 1984 when they face Manchester United at Wembley on Sunday.

The Seagulls are in excellent form approaching the end of the season, most recently winning 2-1 at Chelsea, and have a wonderful chance of making the final at the expense of a United side suffering with a boatload of absentees.

Albion boss Roberto De Zerbi has a few issues to contend with himself. Here’s the XI he may deploy against the Red Devils.

GK: Robert Sanchez – Jason Steele has a knock and Sanchez could start again if the English goalie isn’t fit in time.

RB: Pascal Gross – With both Joel Veltman and Tariq Lamptey sidelined by injury, the versatile Gross could shuffle across to right-back.

CB: Levi Colwill – Chelsea loanee Colwill is attracting plenty of transfer interest, but 90min understands his parent club have no desire to sell him.

CB: Lewis Dunk – Dunk is the only Brighton player who started the 2019 semi-final defeat to City expected to feature from the off here.

LB: Pervis Estupinan – Brighton have upgraded their left-back spot with more savvy recruitment, selling on Marc Cucurella for a pretty penny with Estupinan taking his place. Looks pretty smart right about now.

CM: Alexis Mac Allister – Gross’ move to right-back will see Mac Allister drop into a deeper role.

CM: Moises Caicedo – Still seems enchanted by Arsenal’s January interest but helping the Seagulls win their first major trophy is the primary goal right now.

RW: Solly March – Has seven goals and seven assists in the Premier League this season and netted the fourth in Brighton‘s 5-0 win over Grimsby in the previous round.

AM: Julio Enciso – The latest off Brighton’s conveyor belt of South American talent. Injuries to more prominent attackers could see the Paraguayan 19-year-old start.

LW: Kaoru Mitoma – Contributed a goal or an assist in every game of a seven-match run from March to April.

ST: Danny Welbeck – Young hotshot Evan Ferguson is sidelined, so veteran striker Welbeck should get the nod in attack against his old club.
