Austin, TEXAS – Austin FC played to a 0-0 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday night in front of a sold-out crowd of 20,738 at Q2 Stadium. The sellout was Austin’s 40th consecutive in MLS, extending the league’s longest-active streak.

Alex Ring and Maxi Urruti had the best two chances of the first half, with Ring narrowly missing on a header and Urruti hitting a low shot at Vancouver goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka. Brad Stuver made a number of key stops in the Austin net to keep the visitors scoreless, including denying Simon Becher in a one-on-one just before halftime.

Near the start of the second half, Takaoka blocked Diego Fagundez’s close-range effort. Stuver came up big again on the hour mark with another crucial save on Brian White’s attempt. The Verde & Black continued to have more of the ball and attacking intent through the closing stages, with Dani Pereira forcing a flying save from Takaoka, but were ultimately unable to find the winning goal.

Stuver finished the match with four (4) saves, earning his second shutout of 2023.
