The Story:

The Lions enter the weekend coming off a week off from match play to square off with Minnesota United at Allianz Field for the first time since the 2019 MLS Regular Season.

City will look to continue its strong form on the road on Saturday night, having taken a win and a pair of draws in all competitions in road play this season.

Defender Rodrigo Schlegel tallied his 60th start and 80th appearance in all competitions for the Lions in the side’s last outing against Nashville and currently leads the team in minutes played this season.

Quote of the Week:

“Minnesota is a team that has a structure that we know. We faced them in the preseason, but every game the story is going to be written based on what we as the coaches prepare. They know us, we know them. What we’re looking at is trying to obviously use that knowledge and apply it on the pitch and try to get what we need which is first a victory and the most important is that our chemistry and our system matures.”

– Head Coach Oscar Pareja
