April 10, 2023 – United Soccer League One (USL1) – Forward Madison FC News Release
MADISON, WI: Forward Madison has signed Wolfgang Prentice on loan for 2023 from Oakland Roots, pending league and federation approval.
Prentice played his youth soccer with organizations such as LA Galaxy, Pateadores, and Real So Cal. In 2018, Prentice attended Cal State University, Northridge, where he played two seasons, making 35 appearances and scoring four goals.
In 2019, Prentice joined FC Golden State Force in USL League Two. Prentice then signed his first professional contract with NISA side San Diego 1904 in 2021, making 16 appearances and scoring a goal in his first season with them.
This past season, Prentice signed with Oakland Roots before going on loan to Northern Colorado Hailstorm in USL League One. Prentice made 12 appearances, scoring one goal.
“Wolfgang’s a player with Championship and League 1 experience,” Director of Soccer Operations and Development Keith Tiemeyer said. “He’s a physically long left-sided player. He can serve a ball, beat defenders off the dribble and finish as evidenced by his 2 goals in the 2nd round of the U.S. Open Cup.”
Prentice will be eligible to play in the club’s Home Opener on Saturday, April 15th.
