The best midfielders to sign

Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish

Match reports and analysis are still being written on matches from Gameweek 29 of the Premier League, but it’s full steam ahead as FPL managers look towards the weekend’s games.

Rearranged matches helped fantasy players post big totals this past gameweek, with the likes of Kaoru Mitoma, Joelinton and Kevin De Bruyne all returning scores in the teens from midfield.

So which midfielders should you be targeting in Gameweek 30? Here are our top selections.

Jack Grealish has rarely been an obvious FPL pick at Manchester City due to Pep Guardiola’s penchant for swapping attackers in and out of his starting XI every week.

However, the former Aston Villa star is in excellent form after a goal and an assist against Liverpool and should be well-rested, with City not in action in midweek.

Kaoru Mitoma

Kaoru Mitoma’s profile has grown immensely this season and the Japan international could lay down another marker at Tottenham on Saturday.

Spurs are in disarray and have conceded four goals in their last two games. Mitoma could get some joy against the more-attacking minded Pedro Porro out wide, having picked up 39 points in his last five games.

Emiliano Buendia

Aston Villa are enjoying a wonderful run of form under Unai Emery and Emiliano Buendia is becoming a more crucial part of the team than he was previously under Steven Gerrard.

The Argentine has contributed a goal and an assist in wins against Bournemouth and Leicester and with Ollie Watkins in such fine form up front, expect more points from the attacking midfielder against Nottingham Forest.

Harvey Barnes

It remains to be seen how much of a manager exit bounce Leicester will get from Brendan Rodgers’ departure, but Harvey Barnes is one Foxes player who hasn’t let his standards slip this season.

The 25-year-old has outscored James Maddison (nine) in the league with ten goals and games against Bournemouth and Wolves – admittedly sandwiched by a trip to Man City – could yield good returns.

When is the transfer deadline in FPL Gameweek 30?

The transfer deadline for FPL managers to make changes before is 11:00 BST Saturday 8 April. There is no game on Friday night this week, with Everton’s trip to Manchester United being the weekend’s first game early on Saturday.
