Luis Enrique overtakes Julian Nagelsmann as the FAVOURITE to become the next Chelsea manager as betting odds plummet this morning… with the Spaniard ‘travelling to London’ for further talks
- Luis Enrique has emerged as the favourite to become the next Chelsea manager
- Ex-Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann was the favourite only this morning
- Chelsea have spoken to both managers since firing Graham Potter last week
Luis Enrique has overtaken Julian Nagelsmann as the favourite to become the next Chelsea manager, with the former Spain boss reportedly travelling to London for further talks.
Naglesmann was the bookies’ favourite for the Chelsea job only this morning, but the German has now fallen behind in the pecking order as the race to replace Graham Potter intensifies.
Both managers are out of work, with Nagelsmann – who was sacked by Bayern Munich last month – also attracting interest from Tottenham following the departure of Antonio Conte. Enrique has been without a job since his exit from Spain last December.
The former Barcelona boss is now the 4/9 favourite to take over at Stamford Bridge, via Paddy Power, while Nagelsmann has fallen from 4/6 to 9/4. Mauricio Pochettino (16/1) and Ruben Amorim (22/1) are still in the running.
Sportsmail understands Chelsea are ready to consider as many as seven candidates before whittling down the list in a search led by co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart.

The Blues have made contact with both Enrique and Nagelsmann, with the pair being the two main contenders to succeed Potter. Chelsea are also expected to speak to Pochettino, who is linked with both Spurs and Real Madrid.
Chelsea’s talks with Enrique now appear to have progressed, however, with the Spaniard now heading to London to discuss the vacancy in more detail, according to The Independent.
