McDougal Earns Second Straight U.S. Women’s Youth National Team Call-Up

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State soccer’s Molly McDougal has earned her second straight call-up as she is one of 23 players to receive an invitation for U.S. Soccer’s upcoming Women’s Youth National Team combined U-18/U-19 training camp.

The teams will train April 12-19 at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C., at the University of North Carolina and at Duke University over the course of the camps.

Of the 23 players called up, McDougal is one of only 12 currently playing collegiately. Of those 12, she’s one of three players from the Southeastern Conference to be selected for the camp.

All players in camp are age-eligible for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, the host of which has yet to be determined, which will feature players born on or after Jan. 1, 2004.

The announcement marks the third time McDougal has trained with U.S. Soccer’s Youth National Team, her first coming in 2021 with the United States U-20 team and the latest coming this past January.

In her first collegiate season as a Bulldog, the freshman logged 874 minutes, starting in eight of her 15 matches played for Mississippi State. McDougal’s defensive efforts helped lift the Bulldogs to their most historic season yet after State tallied 12 wins for only the third time in program history while also securing first-ever wins in both the SEC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament.
