Nike have confirmed that they have struck an agreement to re-sign Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.
Haaland’s previous endorsement deal with Nike expired in January 2022 and the Norwegian’s camp have been meticulous in their search for a new agreement, with the quality of the product on offer understood to be a deciding factor.
Since the expiry of his initial deal, Haaland has been spotted wearing boots from various manufacturers but he has now returned solely to Nike.
“Haaland’s unprecedented rise through European Club football, complete with a staggering pace of record-breaking goal scoring, cements his stamp on the future of the game,” a Nike statement read.
“Haaland’s commitment to holistic fitness — honored in his famed celebrations — boost his strengths on pitch: goal-scoring instinct, power, positioning, pace and precision.”
The 22-year-old’s City teammate Jack Grealish recently opted to leave Nike in favour of Puma, while both Neymar and Raheem Sterling have struck alternative agreements.
Nike’s pulling power remains second to none, with their global appeal evidenced by the number of superstar players who remain on their books.
