Link Selected to Coach U.S. Under-16 Women’s Youth National Team


EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State women’s soccer assistant coach Megan Link has been selected to serve as an assistant coach for the Under-16 Women’s Youth National Team that will play in the Mondial Montaigu Football Tournament.

Link, who is in her second season at Michigan State, will serve as the goalkeepers coach for head coach Patchy Toledo. Link and the 20-player roster will travel to France March 29-April 10.

The United States will be in Group F along with Portugal and Norway, while Group E features host France, Japan and Mexico. The U.S. opens play against Portugal on April 3, facing France on April 5 and finishes against Norway on April 7. The placement matches are on April 9. 

None of the U.S. games will be streamed.

Link has been essential in the renaissance of Michigan State women’s soccer, including the development of All-American goalkeeper Lauren Kozal

The Spartans completed the 2022 season boasting a 17-3-3 overall record, the most successful single season in program history. MSU advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, before falling to TCU, 1-0.  The Spartans also captured their first-ever Big Ten regular-season title.
