Match Preview: Home Opener vs Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC

Chattanooga Red Wolves Sign Homegrown Talent Yahir Paez to Professional Contract

March 25, 2023 – United Soccer League One (USL1)Chattanooga Red Wolves SC News Release

The Red Wolves return to action at CHI Memorial Stadium against Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC. The two clubs last met on July 23, 2022 in a match that ended in a nil-nil draw in Chattanooga, following each club snagging a win in two previous matches: Chattanooga, 4-1 on May 7, 2022 and Northern Colorado, 2-1 on June 30, 2022. The Red Wolves are currently unbeaten in home openers with an overall record of 4-0-1.

One of the more notable changes in the off season, Korytoski brings coaching experience across two decades and several teams across the United States, Asia, and Central America. While Korytoski’s most recent coaching stop was with Albion SC in San Diego, his more distinguished work was with Antigua GFC, where he led the Guatemalan club through a 27-match win streak at home and going undefeated in league play for over
two and a half years.

Chattanooga is also coming off of an impressive 2022 season that led to the Red Wolves making the USL League One final. While Tormenta FC would walk away with the 2-1 victory, the Red Wolves will look to carry that momentum into the 2023 season under the new leadership of head coach, Ziggy Korytoski.

NEW ADDITIONS TO CHI MEMORIAL STADIUM

The off-season has seen many changes in and around CHI Memorial Stadium; in addition to expanded seating that brings the total capacity to over 4,000, Tennessee’s first soccer specific stadium will feature a new, two-story indoor and outdoor sports bar called “The Howl Bar.” This space will also function as an additional group area available for reservation for up to 225 people.

The Executive Club, which has been sold out every game since it opened, has also been expanded, receiving additional seating. The stadium now

features a newly added East side grandstand. Fans will also enjoy new food and beverage stations throughout the stadium as well as additional restrooms and a new merchandise area.

On top of the upgrades made inside CHI Memorial Stadium, the surrounding areas are also rapidly changing in anticipation of a new development project titled “The Gateway” that will feature living, work, and entertainment offerings with townhouses, offices, and retail or restaurant spaces.

The Red Wolves Open their season Saturday March 25th at 7:30 PM against Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC.

Tickets are now available.
