Brest vs PSG - Ligue 1: TV channel, team news, lineups & prediction

A deflated Paris Saint-Germain need to get their focus back on Ligue 1 when they travel to face Brest on Saturday.

Dumped from the Champions League at the hands of Bayern Munich, it almost feels as though PSG’s season is over now but Christophe Galtier’s side would be wise to remember that they are only eight points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 standings and their current form could see them slip back towards the chasing pack.

They’ll demand three points against a Brest side who have won just two of their last ten games in all competitions. PSG only won 1-0 when these two teams met back in September, however, so this may not be the walkover some fans expect.

Here’s all you need to know about this one.

PSG team news

Marquinhos went off injured in the first half of PSG’s defeat to Bayern and his replacement, Nordi Mukiele, was forced off at half-time as well. With Presnel Kimpembe out for the season, Galtier may have to get creative at the back.

Further forward, Renato Sanches made the bench in midweek as he steps up his return from a hamstring injury, but Neymar will be missing as he prepares to spend the rest of the season recovering from ankle surgery.

PSG predicted lineup (3-5-2): Donnarumma; Pereira, Ramos, Bitshiabu; Hakimi, Zaire-Emery, Verratti, Vitinha, Mendes; Messi, Mbappe

PSG might be in a bit of a slump but they’d have to drop a long way down to be scared of losing to a Brest side who have won just two home games all season.

Galtier’s side will be full of rage after their Champions League exit and there’s a good chance they’ll look to take that out on Brest here, so don’t be surprised to see plenty of goals.

A weakened PSG defence might give Brest a glimmer of hope but if this game is even close to competitive, it’s a problem for the Parisians.
