Former Manchester United official Hemen Tseayo has joined Tottenham as the club’s new strategic development director, according to reports.

Tseayo parted company with United last summer after more than a decade at Old Trafford, where he worked as their director of corporate development and head of corporate finance before his final role as chief strategy officer.

He proved a highly influential figure behind the scenes, playing a key role in their listing on the New York Stock Exchange shortly after arriving in 2012 and executing several refinancing transactions.

Tseayo was also one of the driving forces behind the club launching its women’s team in 2018.

However, as part of a reshuffle at board level the Nigeria-born ex-banker left United in May 2022, following the departures of chief executive Ed Woodward and director of football negotiations Matt Judge.

According to The Athletic, Tseayo has taken on a position at Tottenham since waving goodbye to the Red Devils, joining the north London outfit as their strategic development director back in mid-November.

His role with Spurs is understood to be wide-ranging, although he is not directly involved in their football operations.

Instead, his job is to take the club forward in terms of domestic and international growth, which includes overseeing their data analyst team and helping them improve their use of data.
