Racing Louisville FC will participate in the Portland Thorns FC preseason tournament, the Thorns announced Monday, in a final tune-up before the National Women’s Soccer League regular season kicks off.

The four-team tournament will include three matches for each team in a round-robin format, with games set for March 12-18 at Providence Park in Portland. In addition to Racing and the Thorns, the field will also include OL Reign and the U.S. Women’s National Team’s under-23 squad.

Racing opens the preseason showcase on March 12 against the reigning NWSL champion Thorns, kicking off at 8 p.m. ET. Louisville takes on OL Reign at 8 p.m. ET on the 15th and finishes the series on the 18th with an 8 p.m. ET matchup against the USWNT U23s.

While tickets will be sold to the event via ThornsFC.com, the matches will not be broadcast or streamed live.

The tournament will cap off a two-month preseason in which Racing will play four fellow NWSL teams to prepare for a much-anticipated 2023 campaign. Louisville drew the Washington Spirit, 0-0, on Feb. 10 and topped the Chicago Red Stars, 3-2, on Feb. 18. Racing played the University of Louisville last Sunday.

Racing’s 22-game regular season kicks off March 26 at Houston before the home opener at 3 p.m. on April 1 against Washington. The NWSL Challenge Cup will play out simultaneously with the regular season, starting in April and concluding with the semifinals and final the week of Sept. 5-9.
