Contracts

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has extended his deal until 2027.

Newcastle United have given Miguel Almiron a new contract which expires in 2026.

Emmanuel Boateng has a new 1-year deal with club option for a further year with New England Revolution.

 


Transfers

Adam Lewis’s loan to Newport County has been ended early due to the 23-year-old picking up a season-ending injury. The full-back has returned to parent club Liverpool.

Former Real Madrid left-back Marcelo has signed for Fluminese on a free transfer after leaving Olympiacos.

Former Manchester United youngster Kieran Gibbs has been released by Inter Miami.

Former Barcelona full-back Moussa Wague has been released by HNK Gorica.

Free agent former Newcastle United left-back Jetro Willems has signed for Groningen.

Real Sociedad’s French defender Robin Le Normand has begun the process of switching his international allegiance to Spain.

Nicolas Seiwald will switch Red Bulls in the summer. The 21-year-old will join RB Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg to replace Konrad Laimer.

 


Injury Round Up

Norwich City midfielder Kieran Dowell has suffered a knee injury which has put him out of action until at least mid-April.

Blackburn Rovers former Liverpool youngster Daniel Ayala has been sidelined for two months with a hamstring injury.

Teddy Jenks will not play again this season. The Crawley Town midfielder, on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, has suffered a long-term hamstring injury.

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has been ruled out for 2 months with a hamstring injury.

Atletico Madrid’s Reinildo Mandava’s season is over after he underwent knee surgery. The 29-year-old Mozambique international suffered cruciate knee ligament damage and is expected to be out for 6 months.

PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe’s season is over after he suffered a recurrence of his ankle tendon problems. The centre-back has suffered an Achilles tendon tear which will require surgery.

 


Job Changes

South Korea have appointed former Germany and United States head coach Jurgen Klinsmann as their new national head coach. Klinsmann replaces Paulo Bento, who stepped down after the World Cup in Qatar, where he led the Koreans to the last 16. Klinsmann has not managed any team since stepping down at Hertha Berlin after just 10 weeks in charge over 3 years ago.
