UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Penn State women’s soccer team announces its spring schedule with four exhibition games on the slate. The 2022 Big Ten Champions will take on three home matches and one road contest.
The Nittany Lions finished their 2022 season 15-5-3 after winning the Big Ten Championship and advancing to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament for the sixth consecutive year. Penn State lost to Virginia in overtime to conclude its remarkable season.
The Nittany Lions kick of their spring campaign on Friday, Feb. 24 with in-state opponent Bucknell for a 7 p.m. match in Holuba Hall. The Bison finished the 2022 season 8-6-6. After winning the Patriot League Tournament in two consecutive penalty shoot out games, Bucknell advanced to the first round of the NCAA Tournament where they lost to Ohio State.
Penn State heads to Washington, D.C. on March 26 for a rematch with Georgetown, who they tied 2-2 in the 2022 regular season. The Hoyas won the Big East Championship and advanced through the first round of the NCAA Tournament to the second round. Georgetown lost to Pittsburgh in the second round and concluded its season 15-2-5.
The Blue & White conclude their spring slate with two home matches on April 2 against Lehigh and April 15 when they host Syracuse. Lehigh finished the 2022 season 8-7-3 after losing to Army in the semifinals of the Patriot League Tournament. Syracuse ended its season with a 8-7-3 record.
