Orange Honored with ACC Postgraduate Scholarships

Three Syracuse student-athletes were honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference as recipients of the 2023 Weaver-James-Corrigan-Swofford Postgraduate Scholarship Awards.

Chelsea Domond (women’s soccer), Luisa Gathmann (women’s rowing) and Noah Singelmann (men’s soccer) are the Orange’s recipients of the Weaver-James-Corrigan-Swofford scholarships, which are awarded to selected student-athletes who intend to pursue a graduate degree following completion of their undergraduate requirements. Each recipient will receive $6,000 toward their graduate education. Those honored have performed with distinction in both the classroom and their respective sport, while demonstrating exemplary conduct in the community.

In addition, Meaghan Tyrrell (women’s lacrosse) was named an honorary recipient as a student-athlete who plans to pursue professional careers in their respective sport and/or will not be pursuing additional postgraduate education.

The four ‘Cuse honorees are part of a group of 53 student-athletes who were honored across the league on Friday.

“The student-athletes in the ACC are amazing, and we are especially proud to honor this year’s class of ACC Postgraduate Scholarship recipients that represent our 15 world-class institutions,” said ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips, Ph.D. “The academic and athletic resumes of these 53 student-athletes are incredible, and we applaud their dedication and commitment to excellence. We look forward to continuing to support these tremendous individuals as they approach the future, which is incredibly bright for each of them.”
