Guardiola realistic about title chances despite ‘excellent’ Man City second-half performance

Guardiola on Man City win

City boss Pep Guardiola insisted there was still too far to go in the season to talk about the significance of the victory.

He told Amazon Prime: “OK, now we are top of the league, but they have one game in hand.

“Winning or losing, you have a lot of games to play, but of course coming here and winning against that team…

“In the first half, they were much better than us. Second half, we were much, much better. At half-time, we said we were not playing, just defending because they were so good, but we should be more active and the second half was excellent.”

Asked what in particular had frustrated him in the first half, Guardiola replied: “My tactics.”

Asked why, he added: “Because I decided something new and it was horrible.”
