February 14, 2023 – Major League Soccer (MLS)FC Cincinnati News Release

CLEARWATER, Fla. – FC Cincinnati scored four times in the opening 55 minutes on Tuesday afternoon in a 4-0 victory over the New England Revolution at Walter Campbell Sports Complex in Clearwater, Fla. Arquimides Ordoñez logged a brace, bringing his preseason goal tally to three, as Stiven Jimenez and Dominique Badji both scored their second of the camp.

The two MLS sides played a 120-minute friendly, broked up into a 45-minute period, a 30-minute period, and wrapping up with 45 more minutes.

Stiven Jimenez got things going early and quickly, as Marco Angulo capitalized on a turnover in the attacking third, and he found Jimenez who finished the play off for the 15-year-old’s second goal of the preseason.

It was Ordoñez who doubled the lead in the 37th minute, as the New England goalkeeper turned it over while playing it out of the back. Ordoñez rounded the keeper and tapped it in. Just before the break, Dominique Badji would make it 3-0 with a powerful finish in the 41st minute.

In the 55th minute, Angulo deftly flicked a ball in to Badji, who ran in behind and squared it for Ordoñez for his second, and FC Cincinnati’s fourth of the game.
