Garner Signs for Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC


EVANSTON, Ill. – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC announced the signing of goalkeeper Christian Garner to a one-year deal with a club option for 2024.

Garner, 22, is a first-year pro who completed his college career as a graduate transfer last season with Northwestern. He made 13 starts and posted one shutout with a .711 save percentage for the Wildcats. 

Garner is the third player to ink a professional deal this year after the signings of Ethan Dudley and Paul Walters. Garner becomes the fourth goalkeeper to sign a professional deal under Head Coach Russell Payne; following Mihajlo Miskovic (Chicago Fire), Ethan Bandre (Sporting Kansas City), and Paul Walters (FC Cincinnati). 

The Riverhounds play in the Eastern Conference of the USL Championship. They start league play away at Birmingham Legion FC on March 11th.
