Felix reveals what Chelsea must do to sign him permanently from Atletico

Felix on Chelsea

Joao Felix has confirmed that his loan to Chelsea does not include a “purchase option” so they need to “reach an agreement” with Atletico Madrid to get him.

The Portugal international joined Chelsea during the January transfer window on a loan deal until the summer.

Felix endured a tough start to this season as he fell down the pecking order under Diego Simeone at the La Liga outfit.

The attacker’s fine form at the World Cup led to him moving to the Premier League last month. Arsenal and Man Utd were linked with him but Chelsea beat them to the signing, with them agreeing to pay a loan fee of around £9.5m.

Felix has also been quick to praise Blues head coach Graham Potter. He has been impressed by the Englishman’s man-management skills.

“One of the first days he called me to his locker room. We were talking about his game idea, the game idea he had thought of for me,” Felix added.

“He explained to me how the team plays and what they do. I really liked that he interacted with me. You can tell that he is a very good person and a great coach.

“He likes to have the ball, control the game and attack. Of course, he also defends when he has to…
