RB Leipzig have hinted that French forward Chirstopher Nuknku will join Chelsea this summer, as the Blues continue to spend big in the transfer window.

Nkunku has developed into one of the most sought-after players in Europe in his time in Germany, scoring 35 goals across all competitions last year before adding 17 in just 23 games this season.

According to reports in the Evening Standard, Chelsea agreed a move for the 25-year-old in October, and Leipzig appear to have confirmed the deal is likely to go through at the season’s end.

‘The signs are very, very clear that he’s moving to Chelsea, ‘ RB Lepizig sporting director Max Eberl told BILD, with Nkunku expected to join the Blues when his £53 million release clause opens up at the end of the season.

It comes amid a flurry of spending from the West London club, who brought in Ukrainian winger Mykhaylo Mudryk for £88m last week.

They also recently splashed out £9m to loan Portuguese forward Joao Felix, but the 23-year-old will miss a portion of his short stay at the club after being sent off on his club debut and picking up a three match ban.
