Chelsea have all but confirmed the arrival of Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhailo Mudryk after posting a series of bizarre cryptic messages on their social media channels before the move is confirmed.

The London-based side have made a conscious effort to hijack Arsenal‘s mega-money move for the winger in recent days, and seem to be on the cusp of confirming his arrival in a whopping £88million deal.

Shakhtar have also been involved in the teasing of the news, sharing photos of the 22-year-old being given a guard of honour by his team-mates and tweeting that the club are ‘very close’ to agreeing a deal for him to leave.

It only takes a glance at Chelsea’s Instagram page to notice a difference to their outlay from before, with their bio on the site deleted and replaced with Mudryk’s handle, @mmudryk10.

The Blues also asked fans to ‘show love’ to Mudryk on Instagram, posting an image of the player to their 37.2million followers. 

Blues chiefs travelled to Poland on Saturday to conduct discussions with the Ukrainian club on regarding signing the 22-year-old.
