SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC will open the 34-game 2023 USL Championship season with three of the team’s first five matches coming at Toyota Field against 2022 playoff teams.
The SAFC season kicks off on March 11 against Oakland Roots SC in a rematch of last year’s 3-0 San Antonio win in the Western Conference Semifinal. The next match at Toyota Field will welcome Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on March 25. SAFC defeated Colorado Springs 2-0 in last season’s Western Conference Final.
For the first time in club history, SAFC will play each Eastern Conference team in 2023, including an early USL Championship Title rematch with Louisville City FC on April 15 in Louisville. By the end of April, San Antonio FC will have played each of the three teams the side defeated in the 2022 USL Championship Playoffs.
Toyota Field will host two separate stretches of three-straight home matches, from May into June and again in August. In total, 16 of San Antonio’s 17 home matches will be played on Saturdays. All SAFC home matches will kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT, with the exception of matches played in June, July and August which will kick off at 8:00 p.m. CT.
